I had very good results with a previous vtech phone, it was a 2.2 or 2.5 GHz phone, and had good signal all over the house, and out in the yard, so I bought this 2 piece set thinking with a 5.8 GHz signal it must be better. Big mistake!!! If I get more than 10 feet from the base the static starts in, and changing channels all day doesn't make it better. I don't know about other 5.8 GHz phones, but this one is garbage.
