This washer has been nothing but problems. Rubber boot leaks and water all over floor, when washing its very loud, shakes and walks the floor and it tears clothes. Had it for five years and nothing but problems YUCK!!!!

This is a piece of JUNK. It is four years old and the repair man said it would be cheaper to buy another one. Problen is it is part of a matching set with with bases that cost over $2,600.00 new. Can not buy a washer to match the set, so I replaced it with a LG steam set. The GE quality has flushed down drain.

This is the worst appliance I have ever owned. It cannot handle rugs, sheets, or towels. I have read everything I could find on this machine and we owners all have experienced the same problems.I have to pull towels and rugs out of the machine and take outside and hose down. I have almost divorced over this, telling my husband he wasn't being truthful when he claimed to have balanced the machine. I saved for 5 years to get this machine, and I would have been better off flushing the money down the toilet. They should recall this machine...it doesn't work!! And as for twisting the knife, this machine has a life expectancy of about 8 years.

This machine is about 4 years old; for the past year it stays unbalanced and makes loud banging sounds. I have had service out 3 times and each told me a different story: too full; not full enough; don't put heavy items in it; don't use the fastest spin: none of these attempts worked and now the motor doesn't even work; I have had machines last me over 20 years. I will not replace it with GE.

I purchased this washing machine almost 4 years ago. I've had nothing but problems from the beginning and have spent almost twice what the machine cost in parts and repairs (however my husband did save us a ton by learning how to repair this POS). I am finally cutting my losses and refusing to fix the latest issue (third one in less than 6 months). We too have had clothes ripped and stained with some strange black coloration. I will be pulling an office space move on this washing machine :) To give this one star is being generous!

This washer is junk! Rips apart our clothes. We have holes in everything we now own. We no longer wash clothes that we care about in it. Ridiculous! It also won't drain and smells like mildew all of the time. This is junk. Don't buy it.

Water was leaking from the bottom of the Washer, took off the panel below the door and discovered the seal was ripped. Owned it for close to 3 years.

Purchased this washer 4/2007. For the last year it has been shredding clothes on a regular basis (one or two garments per month). The machine cleans clothes well, but the money saved on water is more than wasted on buying new clothes. Very poor design. Do not buy this washer.

We've only had our washing machine for a little over 6 months and for the past two months it has been tearing up our clothes on a regular basis. We are also having problems with grease-like spots being left on our clothes. I checked the door seal when the problem first started and everything was fine. Today, after a particularly bad tearing problem, I found the door seal with a large tear. I may save money on our water bill, but I am losing much more everytime I have to replace an item of clothing. It's a gamble to place anything in the washer. Just this week, it ate up my youngest son's brand-new t-shirt that was a special order from his 4-H club. There's no way to replace the shirt. He's sad and I'm sick about it. We've also noticed that the clothes don't come out very clean--even using HE detergent. The underarms of shirts still smell like deodorant even when run through the heaviest wash cycle. Thankfully, we saved our old top loader in the garage. I would much rather use the extra water than to deal with the mess my new washer leaves behind. These are pieces of junk! Save your money and your clothes-- avoid this lemon of a washer!

Bought this machine 2 years ago. This is the worst piece of junk. Service call to fix drain the fist year. Fix drain myself the next time. If you don't load the machine just right, it will not spin. The wife would like to throw this machine out the door and replace it with a top loader! Don't go by Product Rating on this machine. Someone placed a five star rating on this machine after complaining how bad this machine is!!!!!

If it doesn't drain, you need to clean out the drain. Take off the door below the front loader (3 Screws). Twist the white cap. Be sure to have a bucket to catch the water and the nasty junk plugging the filter.

I bought this washer last June and had to have the leaking door seal replaced after 2 months. (covered by warranty)Now one year later the same thing only no warranty and the part is $100.00 not including labor. Sometimes the unit doesn't drain on certain cycles.
