Reviewed by Arturo Carrillo on 12-26-2007 Arturo Carrillo 12-26-07 I have same problem than Mr John Minicuci second time button door open replaced, this time with 16" from burner, igniter disconnected from burned. Waiting for Sharp recall. HA HA HA Rating:
Reviewed by John Minicuci on 10-08-2006 This is a very nice looking and functional microwave. The glich lies in the decision to place the door opening button (made of plastic) directly in line with the biggest burner on most oven's. The button, if placed within 14" from the burner, melts and will not open the door properly. The housing where the button slides in to is also made of plastic. Combine the plastic button and the plastic housing directly over the most poerful burnere and you have a recipe for disaster. There is supposed to be a fix, or temporary delay to the button melting issue in way of a heat shield that can be attached to the bottom of the unit. I have not found it yet but am still searching as the button has now melted for the second time and the only other solutions would be to replace the cabinets above the microwave to be shorter cabinets and raise the microwave away from the burner or get a new microwave. Shame that a button could be the downfall of an otherwise nice microwave. Rating:
