Purchased the coffee pot for the office. Everyone seems to have trouble setting it up, and it is not very convienent. It often makes a mess all over the place--you spend more time cleaning up than you do enjoying coffee. The user manual congratulates you for your purchase, but I think they are being facetious. Not very impressed! Mr Coffee was once a master at simple, fast, trouble-free drip coffee brewing. Not anymore, not with this product anyway!
CONS: Looking good is its only good feature. Leaks all over the counter far too many times to be simply a user problem! Requires a Master Degree in Science or Engineering to operate, no wait, I have a Master's Degree in Science...I'm still having way too much trouble.
Coffee basket cumbersome; water fill area hard to get at without moving the coffee maker to the front of the counter; difficult to confirm the decanter is placed "just right"; clock is analog, but LCD display (awkward) and it changes modes, so you never really know what your looking at (clock or timer); too many buttons and LEDs for simple coffee making; optional water filter too much trouble than its worth; not the best choice if you rely on others to contribute to the coffee brewing (you have to carefully train each one).
