Reviewed by Laser on 11-30-2004 I paid $200 for this at a local retailer. It was chipped on a corner, and discontinued. For the money, you will be hard pressed to do better. This is a powerful sub. The only issues are boominess over 70Hz, and the inability to handle some movie tracks below 30Hz (titan a.e.). But that's being picky, because I have yet to see a sub for 3 digits handle that track without crying for help. Other than that, it will absolutely astound you. Let it break in, this sub took over a month to sound good and tight; it will sound sloppy and boomy until it loosens up. I'm thinking about getting another one for my theatre. If only it went to 20Hz, I'd give it a 5 star rating. Between 30Hz and 60Hz, though, this thing slams. JBL subs, from what I've been told, sound better (more refined) at the same price range. I'd say audition for your own musical tastes. These things play loud easy, so you don't have to turn it up as much as others. Easily smokes everything at Circuit City except for the $600 Velodyne. That dual 10" Sony they have doesn't stand a chance. Rating:
