We moved from a big old home with high plaster ceilings and solid, thick walls to a smaller more modern house with vaulted ceilings, thin walls, and many windows in the music room. Our long-loved Bose 901s just wouldn't fit into the smaller, cornerless room - the speakers were most of the furniture in the room, and they couldn't be placed in a proper position to reflect sound the way they are designed to do. We ordered the Bose Acoustimass 5 to add better sound to a television where we watch DVDs. When I saw how incredibly easy the set-up is, I decided to try the system with the stereo, just to see how it sounds. What can I say? Amazing sound out of the easily-hidden woofer and the two tiny speaker arrays. I'm ordering another Bose Acoustimass 5 for the TV, and finding a more appropriate home for the Bose 901s, because this little system is staying with the stereo. I can't imagine anyone being disappointed with this system.
