Reviewed by Mark on 06-25-2004 I give this player an accepatable only because it was fine while it lasted. Exactly one month. Everything was working fine, then nothing. The thing wouldn't even come on. I took it back and the folks readily exchanged it for the Homita equivalent. I have never heard of Mintek before, so,
caveat emptor! Thankyou Rating:
Reviewed by Kev on 06-23-2004 I bought one at Amazon.com, thought I got a good stuff at a great price. I like a smaller size of the machine, however, after trying out, I found it doesn't play VCD and SVCD, it also is NTSC system only, although tech data claim that it's NTSC/PAL (User Manu tells that it is NTSC only). I called Mintek and asked if what I found out the missed features were true or I got a defective product, I was told that it was true. Sorry, I do like to have those features I mentioned. So I sent it back to Amazon.com. The good part is that, I had no problem with either Amazon.com or finding a tech person at
Mintek. Rating:
Reviewed by Chris on 04-14-2004 I also picked up the Mintek 1770 package deal from Costco for $200. Very impressed with the quality considering the money spent. Tested with DVD, MP3, MPEG, JPEG and AUDIO CD. Plays all with no problems. Have read many reviews on internet and mostly positive. Only negitive aspect is that the advanced features are only available using the remote. Rating:
Reviewed by Bill on 04-08-2004 Awesome Player !!!! Great Picture !!!! Good Speakers. I Love it. Costco.com has a package deal for $219.00 They had a $20.00 rebate a week after I ordered mine for $219.00, I e-mailed them and they still gave me the rebate. You get the bag with car harness, two headphones, car adapter and plug to use two headphones at once. Rating:
