Reviewed by Canela Rosa on 07-14-2005 I cannot locate, (much less download!), a copy of the owner's manual for my Initial Model IDM-9520 4.2" TFT Monitor Portable DVD. Extremely disappointing discovery!! I hope that someone actually looks into the
matter and does something to rectify it! It would be greatly appreciated. . . Rating:
Reviewed by canadianguy on 03-29-2005 We purchased this little unit about 2 years ago, and it had served us well over many a road trip. Due to the complexity of the unit, I spent several hours pouring over the owners manual to understand all the features. It's played every kind of disc I've thrown at it so far. Unfortunately, it has recently stopped receiving the signal from the remote even though the remote battery is good. We also complain about the unit stopping and skipping when we hit bumps on the road. I would like to see a stronger latch on the dvd closure. Finally, I would like to see an improvement on the power cord, because the smallest bump pulls it out and causes much grief for all involved. It's good, but not terrific. We enjoyed it as our first portable DVD experience and currently use it for a DVD player to play on a larger screen. IT does very well with DVD-+R's. Rating:
Reviewed by Bryan on 11-06-2004 Great Features! Not for the technically challenged ... requires dilligent use of the Users Manual.
Many great options: The versatile In/Out SVideo/Composite Video cable works almost everywhere you may need:
1) a bigger screen to export/display a video on 2) at least a 7" flat-panel to show any imported SVideo/Composite video
The remote is fabulous ... more functionality than I've seen in most home-based units.
The multitude of audio options are overwhelming.
Treat this unit like your baby; it is, after all, a small portable precision instrument.
I would buy this unit again if mine were stolen. Rating:
Reviewed by Sarah on 06-29-2004 For the price it was a good little dvd player, especially for road trips.
However, one fall to the floor and the picture is all messed up and will only play with a tv now.
Who knows how much more it would have lasted without the crash. Rating:
