I bought a Hitachi Plasma that starting acting up from about the second month. Upon occasionally changing channels, it would lose the picture and not return until I cycled the TV off and on again. Finally, it gave out completely. I had it serviced under the warranty, and the repair shop could not fix it. All they could do was to order new boards, try them, and then repeat that process hoping to get lucky and find the problem. Well, they never did get it fixed and after 45 days, they called me, returned it unrepaired and told me that Hitachi had agreed to replace it. When I called Hitachi, they said they had no record of approving a replacement: I had to coordinate the repair shop and Hitachi to get it "reapproved" so I could get a replacement. This has been almost a week and the only contact I have had with Hitachi is when I call them. They cannot tell me anything about what is happening, and here I sit without a TV. They are absolutely the most non responsive and unconcerned company I have ever dealt with. The latest action is for me to file a complaint with the Consumer Fraud Division of the DA's office. My next step is to file with small claims court. I will NEVER, EVER deal with Hitachi again, as they don't seem to give a damn about their customers.

Awesome picture with accurate color and nice detail. Can't believe it's an EDTV
