The DVD player is nothing but problems , Customer support is worthless . The company will give you the runaround . Even after paying for a replacement That didnt work . A waste of money . Rating: ![]() Reviewed by James Johnson on 08-17-2008 Honestly, this tv is a worthless piece of dirt. I purchased mine from Sam's Club in December of 2006. In November of 2007 the power supply and DVD were replace because the picture kept going out. I was glad that I purchased the extended warranty. After the repair, I called Sam's Club to see if I could extend the warranty. They refused to do so based on the number of repairs for this televsion. And now, in August of 2008, I sit with a tv less than two years old and the picture continues to go out. What an absolute waste of $650.00 I Will never purchase another polaroid product again. Rating: ![]() Reviewed by Robin Lykins on 03-25-2007 I was interested in being able to record from the a/v outputs, while the tv was working from its ATSC tuner. This worked, but the audio was sometimes distorted because the output on some channels overloaded the recorder's input. Viewing angles were good compared to many lcd tvs. The auto time set worked pretty well on the clock, but the month indicated a month behind on all digital channels. If I used manual clock setting, I could set the month and date, but the clock didn't keep time too well. Sometimes when I switched channels, a primary color, generally blue or green, would overlay the picture and entire screen. If I switched channels back and forth the color cleared. The dvd player lacked zoom and slow control. There is no a/b repeat, etc. The menu often jumped 2 functions with one button press on the remote, so that it took several attempts to get the function that was one space away from the highlighted function. The headphone jack put out at high level with n o volume control, too loud for listening on headphones. Now for the really bad: After about 3 weeks, the set would intermittently drop its sound and then the picture would blank out. "No Signal" would show on the screen. If I attempted to switch to another channel, it would come back to the one I was on, but without sound and then revert to blank screen with "No Signal". If I tried switching to the dvd player, the backlight would go out, with no functions working, but able to be switched off. Turning power off and on again would usually restore operation, but for who knows how long? The audio output from the RCA jacks and earphone jack also fail intermittently, while the sound from the speakers remains (if volume is up and speakers are on). This ruins any recording, of course. If these last problems were not present, I'd like the tv. If the small troubles weren't present, I'd like it very much. Rating: ![]()
