Reviewed by E young on 05-27-2009 I now wish I had read reviews. My Polaroid just shut off for no reason. I can see I'm not the only one. Customer service recomended I purchase a new power supply, and after asking if they guarantee this is the problem, I was told no...but we don't warranty fixing it. I now have a $700 paper weight after 15 months. Rating:
Reviewed by Henry Herron on 05/05/2009 Just before the 2nd year, the sound went out. Repairing the sound cost almost as much as buying a new tv. Picture quality is average at best. Rating:
Reviewed by Gavin Curtis. on 02-24-2009 This is most likely bad electrolytics in the power supply as have restored many of these flatscreens with same problem. Parts cost is 5-10 dollars and is a proper repair. I have the same 32" Polaroid with DVD and so far no problems after one year. Not here representing Polaroid, but frustrated to see so many of these TV's lost over a mere $10.00 in parts. Has anybody with technical experience opened up their TV and examined the electrolytics on the power supply board? Most likely they have vented and need to be replaced with proper, high quality units. TV should last many many years then. Don't know why these corporations are unable to resolve their problems in a customer friendly manner and make it affordable. Rating:

Reviewed by Michael Watson on 11-29-2008 My Polaroid model number flm323b quit working after 14 months. Polaroid customer service is of no help either. I hopethere we be a class action law suit against polaroid soon with as many of these units i have read about that are breaking. Rating:
Reviewed by Joan on 05/11/2008 I have had this tv for less than one year. The sound is completely gone. I, too, have hooked it up to an external speaker and that works. But why did I pay for a tv that obviously has sound problems. This is posted all over the internet...sound problems, loss of sound, etc. This is obviously a defect and I will be reporting it to a consumer agency. Rating:
Reviewed by Wayne on 05/02/2008 Don't buy this TV even if someone gives it to you, it will not work very long. Many of these just shut down, and Polaroid Service, (made by RCA) has no idea how to fix them, they throw parts at it and then just give up. Bad design, Bad componants, (Made in China) Weak assemblies, weak connections, Bad solder work, Beware, If you have one sell it before it goes bad. becuase within 12 to 16 months they quit working. 16 months is a good one. Fact!!! My rating is a Negitve -5 Rating:
Reviewed by Chad on 06-27-2007 I purchased this TV four months ago. The picture just went out. Polaroid customer service is HORRIBLE!!! I've been talking to them for three weeks and they can't do anything! Like Gary said, they just want you off the phone. They say they will call me back but they never do. I'm still under the "one year warranty" but at the rate they're going, I doubt they will do anything. Save your money. I'll never buy a Polaroid product again. Rating:
Reviewed by Gary on 06-19-2007 Purchased this TV just over a year ago. Comparing TV's in the store, we liked the color of the Polaroid best. One year and two days later, TV went out. My beautiful TV has been in the shop now for a month. The part that went out is going out on all of them they tell us. They have no idea when they might get the parts, so we spent $900 for one year of TV usage. Not a good deal. The Polaroid customer service seems nice, but they do not follow through on their promises. They say anything to get you off the phone. Very poor customer service from an American company. This is the worst consumer electronics experience I have ever had. Rating:
Reviewed by Maxguitarhead on 09-07-2006 The picture quality is great and you can view the screen from anywhere in the house, I still see the pic from the side. Side by side viewing against other models was great for comparison, this HDTV won hands down. The dark frame around the screen really makes objects on the screen pop. The sound quality is very poor. The best thing to do is to hook it up to your home theater system. Now it sounds like I am sitting at the movie theater and have a great HDTV that I can just about put anywhere. Repeat: you want sound, hook it up to your 6.1 surround sound system. Maxguitarhead Rating:
Reviewed by Paul on 06-20-2006 It is ok, just acceptable, very poor quality. Rating:
Reviewed by gordon on 06-20-2006 Now that the sound effects feature is turned off, the treble adjustment lowered, and the bass adjustment higher; the total audio and visual effects equal each other. The picture is outstanding. A great buy for $900. Rating:
Reviewed by Andrew R Links on 06-08-2006 Just got one week ago....easy to set up...Remember to turn off surround sound..just stereo...great picture...great connections...and side by side with the RCA 32" wins hands down...got at Walmart Rating:
Reviewed by Monica on 05-19-2006 Great TV for the money however the remote is not very user friendly especially the PIP. Rating:
Reviewed by bob on 05-12-2006 I just want to make it clear that I only brought this TV home about 2 hours ago and used it for about 45 minutes. In the short amount of time I have used it, I really like it. I chose this tv because the picture looked much better next to the RCA tv that was next to it. I actually spent 20 minutes trying to get the RCA to have as good of a picture with no luck. I was actually impressed because the Polaroid was $100 less than the RCA. So far, the picture is warm and clear, the only problem I have is the sound... it is not top notch. A great deal for the money! Rating:
