I,ve owned my Philips 44PL9523\17 since 10/08/2005 was pleased until on 06/22/2006 it popped and turned itself off and will not come back on.I call Philips and found the only service center in my area can not touch it for 2 months. In my oppinion and in the other reviews I've read on this TV I was not the only one to buy a lemon.

We turned on the TV for the first time and it shut off within 15 seconds. Strange, we tried again. It shut off within two minutes. Ok! Read the troubleshooting! Timer off - YES! Lamp door closed - YES! Try unplugging for 60 seconds and try again - OK! It worked until we shut it off. That was the last time it shut off by itself. Philips said they had to have it serviced instead of exchanged. The certified servicer said it would take 10 to 14 days to see. Then if they had to order parts it could be 20 days. If they could not fix it, it could take a month for an exchange. No way! I returned it.
