My rating is somewhat influenced by the fact that I got a steal on this t.v.- $1099 from Best Buy a couple of weeks ago (it is now going for $1599 on their website). DVDs look great. I don't have an HD package from Dish Network, and I cannot get OTA HD programming because I live in the middle of nowhere, so I can only watch standard def. t.v., which does not always look fantastic. Overall however I have been very pleased with this television.

The JVC LCD TV seems to be flying under the radar screen this year I recently bought one from Best Buys and was almost stunned at the great value it is. The picture is clear and crisp it's "all screen" which is important if space is a factor. I thought the largest I'd be able to use would be a 37". But the JVC 40" is about the same overall size as most 37's. I'm a very happy customer
