Reviewed by CB on 08-28-2005 I agree with everyone who owns a RCA RTD255 Home Theater System. It Sucks!! I am on my 2nd because the first one I bought didn't have any sound so I exchanged it. I feel lucky though because everything was working well until the last couple of months. Then the DVD player started not recognizing DVDs. It would go through all 5 over and over until it would finally recognize one. Now it has gotten so bad that I have to
unplug the piece of crap just to unfreeze the player when it trys to recognize a DVD. It also has sound problems. The Dolby surround sound now
just goes silent after 10-20 mins. of the movie. The only surround sound that works is the stereo. My advice is to buy somthing besides RCA. RCA sucks!!!! Rating:
Reviewed by Jeffery Harrison on 08-21-2005 My home system has done the same as all the other complaints. No power, freezeup! You call Thompson and they give you the run around and then want you to ship it in , Have had 2 exchanges and this one is still
broken, I have found that it is the best policy to NEVER buy an RCA product. This company has got to be the worst in the market. Rating:
Reviewed by Billy on 07-01-2005 I Bought it in dec 2004 and I have change it 3 times already. And now with
this one is not accepting dvd's region 1 only region 4 and no one in RCA knows how to change back to region 1.
This is the first time I buy a home theare system and the first week I love it but know i think it was a mistake buying a RCA. Rating:
Reviewed by Wagstaff on 02-15-2005 I have had 4 exchanges in the last year for the exact same "won't power up" fault. Now, I'm 2 months out of warranty and it died again. RCA won't even acknowledge the model as one of there's now. Since it was made in China, they say it's out of their hands. Take my advice. Any electronics made in China is a risky investment. Reviewed by E on 02-02-2005 Do not buy this it is a waste of money. I bought one 4 weeks ago and is already broken and will not work at all. Don't even bother to contact RCA they won't respond. Rating:
Reviewed by Erin on 01-30-2005 Don't waste your money. This thing will freeze up on you and the only way to fix it is by unplugging then plugging it back in again. This only works for a short while eventually it will freeze up and not work at all. I have only owned this for 1 month and it is already broken. Rating:
