Reviewed by Mark on 11/10/2009 I purchased the unit two years ago and unit just stopped working. The red power light just had a dull blink,it worked fine until then but we expected it to last longer. To expensive to repair considering the price of replacement units. Rating:
Reviewed by Rob Hull on 12-24-2007 Bought this unit over one year ago. Worked great until its audio inputs which were run from my HD cable box stopped working either on TV or Aux. Only sound comes from playing a CD or DVD. To me, for $200 you should get more than a year of use. Thumbs down and I'm agitated. Rating:
Reviewed by Mark on 06-24-2007 This unit worked fine for two years. Then the red light on the standby button would only blink. Unit would not come on and the DVD is still in the unit. I consulted the troubleshooting guide and it said to unplug the cord for a few minutes and retry. That did not work. Another possible solution suggested by the troubleshooting guide was to hold in the source button for more than two seconds I believe and that did not work either. The warranty was originally for one year. So I don't really know what my recourse is now. But I thought you should know about this problem. Rating:
Reviewed by Bob on 03-10-2006 For the money you can't beat it. It took me 1 hour to wire the entire home theatre up to my 52" TV. Sounds great and super user friendly. Rating:
Reviewed by madjik68 on 01-03-2006 I was looking for an inexpensive, but good sounding home theater in a box. I went to Radio Shack and bought an RCA system for $89. It was a demo which lasted for three weeks and sounded ok. I took it back and bought the Phillips for $199 and it sounds much better than the RCA and has an am/fm reciever built into it. They supplied plenty of cable and mounting brackets. The only thing that I didn't like were the cheesy connectors that plug into the back of the unit; they looked like they would be a problem to fix if the wires were pulled out. Rating:
