The powerful DHT-485XP home theater unites separate and complementary components in a reasonably priced and easily configured system. Beyond this package, all you need for terrifically exciting home entertainment is a living room, a television, a DVD player and a place to put the speakers. The system includes a versatile audio/video receiver along with 6 speakers and a 100-watt subwoofer. Since speakers must be carefully selected to bring out the full sound quality of the recording, we have made the job easier by selecting the speakers for you. The 100-watt subwoofer features a 10" woofer to drive home the low frequency sounds. Handling the dialogue channel is a 2-way, 3-speaker front speaker. 5 2-way, 2-speaker satellite speakers will take care of the surround duties in your home theater system. With Dolby Pro Logic IIx, the AVR-485 recreates existing Dolby Surround programs and conventional stereo sources such as CD in realistic 6.1-channel likeness.
