hahaha dont make me laugh... dont let the description above fool you folks... let me just put it this way: before i heard this i didnt believe that speakers could sound so bad... like the others say: STAY AWAY!!!

I also purchased this unit with the hopes of having a decent system. The sound has horrible quality, the subwoofer is passive and you can hardly hear a beat out of it. I also have the same problem where the speakers work in 2-channel mode. Stay away!!

Sound output doesn't work for more than 2 channels. Sent for repair worked fine for a day then problem came back, fragility of electronics and/or pb of temprature. The equalizer only releases cracking sounds on 3 channels. Speakers have been tested separately: all good. All the unit's vent is very loud, probably over dimensioned to support the temperature-sensitive electronics. I would stay away from this Criterion T229 product.
