Reviewed by Phil on 12-04-2004 Functionality was nice, but quality is poor. Mine only lasted 10 months. Rating:
Reviewed by Fidel Aragon on 03-02-2004 Cons:
1. There is no USB port. (if anyone has purchased one w/USB please let me
know)
2. Program guide recording not working properly:
a. Didn't record 2 out of 4 shows programmed (recorded the first and last
shows but not the one's in between - all were back to back on the same
channel!)
b. Titles weren't correct - said it had recorded "Everbody Loves Raymond" and actually was "Yes Dear".
3. Have had problems copying MP3 files to hard drive (it created multiple
folders - ghost folders)
4. Locked up once trying to copy MP3's - had to unplug to reset.
Pros:
1. The price
2. Ease of set up
3. copying JPEG's
4. Universal remote Rating:
Reviewed by Timothy P. Reyburn on 01-30-2004 Looked at TIVO, ULTIMATE TV and REPLAY devices. This is one excellent alternative to all three and just as many tricks up it's sleeve. PLUSES: No per month subscription to pay. Time shifting of live TV. Instant replay. Instant record. Downloads Cable "GOLD" guide for free. Automatically records up to 30 minutes of live TV. I love this thing! Rating:
Reviewed by Fritz F on 01-28-2004 I've had the unit for two weeks and love it. Other reviews mentioned the sound of the unit on being too loud and I've never noticed it. The ability to pause live TV and skip is great. The DVR aspect, but I'm still struggling with the Guide+. Even though it's not mandatory for me being in Rural Alaska makes cable listings a pain anyway. So I'm working with RCA on that, but they are hard to get ahold of. Rating:
