Reviewed by Dee on 06-13-2004I bought this over a year ago from HSN, but just recently tried to set it up. First the eject button wouldn't work on either the unit or the remote, so I found the solution on the internet. And now I can't get it to setup, no matter what I do. I will never purchase another Cyberhome product. I will try to look for another product and hopefully will have better luck with a different brand. Rating: ![]() Reviewed by Gene on 04-28-2004 I found two major problems. One is when you doing record from coaxial cable the colors are very poor. Second, when you try to play recorded discs (DVD+R or DVD+RW) in another DVD players it pause every 1min 39sec (I recorded in SP mode). It is obvious bug. Cyber Home did not answer on my two e-mails, and then I called and was on hold for 40 minutes. Their support person sent me latest BIOS upgrade disc. After installation the problems remain. I will return the unit to store back. Rating: ![]() Reviewed by Keon on 04-08-2004 It's an incomplete product. There are some issues with the electronics in the unit. I experienced to major problems with this unit that I have owned less than a week, and its going back to the store tomorrow... The first problem is that there is a split second pause in all the recording modes. In HQ mode, the pause occurs every 1 miunte. In SP mode, the pause occurs every 1 and a half minute and so on, and so on, and so on. I have upgraded the BIOS and ran the Servo update. Both of these update are on their website, but they don't seem to fix anything... The other problem is that this unit occasionally will not let you eject a disk, or it will tell you that there is no disk inserted when there is a disk in the unit. DVD+R and DVD+RW disk only, and still it doesn't matter. I guess you get what you pay for. I'm going to take it back to the store, save some money, add it to the $250 I paid for this piece of junk and buy a proper DVD recorder. This is the last Cyberhome product I will ever buy. Rating: ![]() Reviewed by Tom Cooper on 01-16-2004 On 11/13/03 from Walmart I bought a CyberHome CH- DVR 1500 Recorder. At this time I also bought a Pre recorded movie, to try out, and disk's to record on, these were DVD+R Also DVD+RW. I recorded on 2 disks with approx. 6 hrs of record time, these were my old home video's. The next day I inserted a new disk to do more. I did approx. 2 hrs time, when I wanted to remove disk ,it would not. I could not remove or record. I had this unit approx. 8 day's. I took this back to Walmart and there the Tech. also could not remove disk. So on that day Nov.21st Walmart gave me another recorder. I recorded about 6hrs of recording on the new unit, I removed the disk for later. When I was ready again I installed disk, it went into it's cycle of reading the disk. When this was done it said I had no disk in the tray. I could remove disk, but readout still said no disk. I then put in a movie, this also said no disk. I returned this unit to Walmart and got my money back, as it was well in the 90 day of returned items. There is some problem within their electronics. I have also emailed 3 times to support at CyberHome.Com. They have a large problem with the electronics and with their support team, at least they should answer email. This is the end of CyberHome equipment for me. THANKS Rating: ![]()
