The quality of recordings is very good with this machine but I have to be honest: I have had problems with it since 2 months after buying it. Initially problems with ejecting or inserting a DVD - I have to gently pull the disks out as the compartment will not automatically open up. And now it won't play back some disks which I originally recorded on the same machine. I don't find this satisfactory and frankly will not buy Philips again after this.
