This is a review site, not a forum, so please don't just ask questions. Please do not use swear words or offensive language, and please, no advertising! Reviewed by Marc McAlvard on 06-07-2005This CyberHome recorder (by the way, the same as Wal-Mart's ILO) I recommend it ONLY: if you still have a regular AND small tv (less than 25'), (tv in the basement, work out room, small children, etc. Should work fine. BUT not recomended for bigger TVs ( not mention HDtv): Inside componenst are of the lowest quality: it shows on the pixelated image, even on the HQ setting (1 hr), yellowish color, degarded details,etc In a word, below VHS standard!. Remote is crowded, have to have patience to set the SOURCE everytime!, writting titles, etc. On the PLUS SIDE: the chasis is very nice and feels compact. It's small! (Reason I bought it). BUT THE BIGGEST SURPRISE ( not published as that): IT RECORDS THE 4 BASIC DVD FORMATS Yes, I did recordings on DVD+R, DVD+RW, and DVD-R and DVD-RW !!! I couldn't believe it. Mine was "broken" or something? (Mine is the batch made on May,2005). Too bad same unbearable poor quality on all formats. Thanks. PS: ( I used Memorex, SOny, Verbatin and generic blank DVDs, on S-vid input). Rating:   Reviewed by Lawrence Monegain on 03-12-2005 I purchased a Cyberhome CH-DVR 1500 in 8/2003 and after having a recreation room set-up I opened up the box and addded this unit to my TV system and after 2 months it made a cracking sound when turn on and now it's completely dead, will now power on anymore. I called the HSN Network and they said it was no longer under warranty and I would like to know what my options are now. Please advise. Very, UNHAPPY. Rating: Reviewed by Susan on 12-11-2004 Don't waste your time nor money on this product. It will completely fail after a few months of working. Cyberhome is hard to reach and won't respond to any of your requests for service (my opinion). Look on their website cyberhome.com/service. They are willing to replace or repair the model 1500 free of charge. But getting them to respond to a service request or on phone is near impossible. Spend your money on a brand named product. Rating: Reviewed by albert on 08-17-2004 Don't waste your money on cyberhome. bought this recorder in february 2004 half the time it would not read the disks. Half the time when I tried to record it would display ERROR. This machine is a complete waste of money. Also bought a Cyberhome DVD player that very seldom worked. The moral of this story stay away from cyberhome, you get what you pay for, spend a little more for a better machine. Rating:
