Toshiba SD-K625
Product Rating
Code free / Region free - This dvd player is modified to play all region discs. It will automatically recognize the region when you put in the dvd. NO complicated codes or anything to enter. Just plug it in and press play. Best price at welectronics.com Also has manual selection of regions if you desire to change the region manually for an RCE or REA disc. With this dvd player you can play your favorite movies from any country. PAL playback on NTSC TV and NTSC playback on Pal TV - This is a special feature available on very few DVD players. Most other region free players will play back all region discs but if the disc is Pal you will not be able to play it on a normal American TV. With this Sampo you can play your European region 2 Pal discs. With this dvd player you can play Any disc on any TV. Manual selection of regions menu - We have added a menu into the setup of this DVD player which allows you to manually change regions if there is ever a disc in the future that will not play on the machine. This is an excellent feature to have which is not available on the regular Sampo 611. MP3 Player - Yes, for the music lovers. You can record hours of music on one disc and play it in this dvd player. Hundreds of songs can fit on cd-rom in the MP3 format. You can now hook this up to your music system and listen to hours of music all from one disc. ColorStream® Component Video Outputs - These outputs allow the highest quality video signal to be sent from the DVD player to a component video equipped TV. When this connection is utilized, typical NTSC artifacts- like video noise and dot crawl- are virtually eliminated, resulting in a low-noise, highly detailed picture with unequaled color purity. Video Black Level Expansion - Grayscale in video is measured and tracked on a scale of 0 (black) to 100 (white) IRE units. In NTSC video we have traditionally assigned the 7.5 IRE value as being the black cutoff in a picture. The Expanded mode in the "Video Black Level Setting" menu enables Toshiba DVD players to output a 0 IRE signal for richer, deeper black tones in every image. Parallel Video Output - This highly convenient feature lets you connect your Toshiba DVD player via Composite, S-Video, and/or Interlaced Component Video Outputs and watch simultaneous images
from each connected TV. Ideal for multi-room applications.

Reviewed by aynsof on 02-19-2006 i've had this machine for about three years and have been extremely happy with it. it plays all sorts of discs, including mp3s (though not mp3s burned onto a dvd). you can put in five mp3 discs though, press repeat or random, and you'll have music for days on end. also, any dvd from anywhere plays fine. great machine (and i usually refrain from saying nice things about anything corporate!) Reviewed by sandy on 10-26-2004 This DVD player worked fine about 2 months, then it started to only play 1 disk and stop. Now we also can't get it to do the Random choices. Anyone else with this problem? I'm reporting it to Toshiba and asking for help from them. Rating:
Reviewed by John Grant on 02-25-2004 I have had this unit about 9 months and now it won't play or even eject the disks that are in it. I am going to write Toshiba and hopefully they
will rectify the situation. What troubles me the most is that it appears to be the electronics of the system not the actual moving parts. The
electronics on any unit should almost never fail. I will keep the link to this site and let everyone know what my response from Toshiba was. Rating:
