I have been looking for a DVD player that can play DVD-R and SVCD discs. It also needs to have an optical audio output and a memory stop resume when playing a disc. I bought a new JVC XV-N410B which has all of the requirements; however, it freezes on some of the discs that I have; so I returned it and bought the Terapin TT2600 which is cheaper than the JVC; but also has the same features. The Terapin rocks, it plays all the discs that I have, including the ones that won't play on the JVC and the Sony's.
