The player worked fine for about a year. Then we started having problems. We get a lot of VCDs from overseas. The unit will play DVDs just fine, but when playing a VCD, the output is noisy, and in B&W, and constantly rolls (remember the old vertical control on your 1960s TV). Quality is not quite there, but at $89 new, I guess it's a disposable machine.
