Pioneer DVR-310
Product Rating
Pioneer has been a leader in DVD recorder technology for years, building both DVD computer drives and component recorders like the slim, sleek DVR-310. Everything you'd normally record with your VCR can now be recorded with the DVR-310 - it has a built-in TV tuner, clock/timer, and VCR Plus+. And DVD recordings look and sound so much better! For time-shifting your favorite weekly shows, a rewriteable DVD-RW disc lets you erase and re-record the same disc over and over. For material you want to hang onto, record to write-once DVD-R discs, which can't be erased, and which play in nearly all DVD players. Camcorder owners will love the ability to make pristine DVD copies of videos for easy playback, and for sharing with friends and family. The DVR-310's front-panel i.LINK® jack makes transferring video from a digital camcorder fast and easy. Start archiving your precious home movies on DVDs and stop worrying about tape failure! The DVR-310 provides other advanced recording and playback options that just aren't possible with a VCR. For example, "Chase Play" time shift playback employs a memory buffer to let you watch the beginning of a recorded program while the show is finishing recording! In fact, you're not limited to watching the recording in progress - you can watch anything else already on the DVD. (Chase Play has a 15-minute limit.) The DVR-310 plays DVD movies on virtually any TV, and if you have an HD-compatible TV, you can take advantage of this player's beautifully filmlike progressive-scan mode. You can also play a wide variety of music discs - in fact, the DVR-310 is our first recorder to be able to play both MP3 and WMA files burned on a CD-R or CD-RW.
