Same problem. I bought this model and within 2 months it stopped loading discs. Got another one with warranty and this one lasted 10 months before it stopped loading discs.

This product performed well until it broke down after less than a year of use. We only have this product because our previous hitachi broke down and was replaced with this because of the warranty. Both products had the same
issue, which was an inability to load the dvd to begin with.
