The DVD-555S is a full fledged Progressive DVD/CD player, for home entertainment. Features Progressive Scan, Direct Disc Select, Disc Skip, Disc Program Play, Disc Random Play, and Dolby Digital & DTS Surround Sound outputs.
Features of the Denon DVD-555S include:
- Cinema Mode - Improves picture quality in certain viewing conditions. Lessens the glare typical of direct-view TV screens, resulting in an image that is gentler to the eyes. Also improves the visibility of details in dark scenes by adjusting the picture contrast.
- Frame Advance - Gives you more control, allowing you to stop the action. Advance Forward or Reverse: one noiseless still frame at a time.
- Picture Control - Three settings: Brightness, Color and Contrast, with Black Level Control.
- Optical Dolby Digital & DTS Output - Enables digital-to-digital connection to DTS and Dolby Digital decoders.
- Progressive Scan - gives you less flicker and fewer motion artifacts than the traditional interlaced-scanning method
- Disc Stabilizer System - Helps ensure greater compatibility between the player and software discs that may be warped and more difficult to read on other DVD players.
- Chapter Preview - When you have only watched part of a movie, this feature helps you refresh your memory when viewing it again, by showing you the first 3 seconds of each previously viewed chapter. It then proceeds with normal play, once it reaches the position where you left off.
- Hi-Speed Smooth Motion Scan - You can search Forward or Reverse with crystal clear quality in 5 different speeds - ranging from slow motion up to an incredible 100x the normal speed - while locating desired locations on a disc. And when scanning at the initial forward setting, you can hear the soundtrack.
- On-Screen Menu Icons - Helps guide operation.
- Title/Chapter Search - With marker function.
