Reviewed by Alex Cajones on 05-14-2008 hello, i had mine for a mhile and drove it around 600 watts, and mines a 10" and then it blew. i got it the same day as my 450 watt pioneer and hooked them up the same time and used them equally, and my 3.10.4 lightning audio started smokina and rattlse and no longer works, but it was ok for a while, and i had it in a bandpass enclosure, but my pioneer was in the same box and has less power and hits harder than the lightning audio. i prefer the pioneer over this lightning audio personnaly, sorry guys... thanks anyways Rating:
Reviewed by Michael on 11-01-2004 I wanted some subs for my car, I didn't have a lot...around $300. So in addition to the Sony 600w I bought (Which is a nice amp for $150), I decided that these looked best for the price, as well as be a good match for the amp. I put them in my own custom dual ported enclosure, with each driver having its own 1.25cu. inch area. These suckers pound pretty damn hard. I was accually caught off guard by them. Besides that fact that they were only 10" (Abit having two of them), for $40 a driver, I never knew they would shake, rattle, and roll that they do. Sound Quality is nice for the price, and with EQ, they get the job done and blend nicely with my mains (Again for the price). The subs have punch to spare and are good down to around 25hz. (Im not sure on this, but im going by my ears and experience with wave tones).
If your looking for quality subwoofers for the price, then look no further. If your looking into a single driver, I'd recommend the 12", however the dual 10" setup has lots of versitility.
Note to users: These drivers are said to be best for sealed, however when we had them in a sealed box, I got nothing out of them, and I mean nothing. Now I don't know if this was because I wasn't driving enough power, I doubt this however. The drivers were moving forcefully, but little sound was coming out. However, once I put them in my customized ported enclosure, they came out like p*ssed off bulldogs. They are awesome for rap/hip-hop and decent with rock, however EQ them and they provide nice punch with decent blending. Rating:
