Reviewed by Shane Diaz on 07-14-2005 Warm. Incredibly warm. I listen to everything from stacey Kent's soothing Jazz, to Jack Johnson's acoustic melodies. The tonal balance is absolutely flawless, the Japanese having included a mamoth selection of DSP's have created a machine that besides looking oh so damn Sexy (asia's titanium version) has a built in processors that completely re-masters the optical signal being fed to it before passing it on out to the speakers. SO finding a DVD player to integrate with it won't really be a problem.
Integrating SUB(LFE) with FRFL for stereo is jaw droppingly well matched.
Enhanced Surrounds for DTS video??...let's just say Alexander's marching army before his first battle is nothing short of Earthshakingly thunderous! Disdvantages however is that the power in driving somewhat
lacks. The more higher frequencies seemed clipped at times in order to compensate for the warmness, but overall...with the raft of DSP's as well as pure direct.. not really a tremendous problem. To sum it up in a nutshell, for $350 WOWWW!!!
..did I mention that it's not 7.1.....it's 9.1 (Yamaha added a further discrete 2 presecence channels) who's your daddy now?? Rating:
