Denon AVR-684
The AVR-684 features simultaneous switching between audio and video signals, built-in 5.1-channel Dolby Digital and DTS decoding, and five amplifier circuits (110 watts per channel) to provide power to all channels (except the subwoofer) for seamless surround sound. The receiver is equipped with 4 inputs for digital sources like DVD and CD, plus plenty of analog inputs for your VCR, TV sound, cassette deck, etc. It is also DVD-Audio ready, giving you the ability to reproduce the exquisite sounds and ultra high fidelity of DVD-Audio discs.
Features of the Denon AVR-684 include:
- High Output Power
- In order to meet the demands of Dolby Digital/DTS, the receiver provides each of the five main channels with the same 100w high power. This Times 5 concept gives your system a total of 500w of amplifier output, for amazing sound quality that helps guard against clipping distortion (which occurs when a momentary volume peak requires more power than an amp can deliver). You can also connect a powered subwoofer, for awesome fully-discrete 6-channel stereo sound.
- Home Theater Mode - Equal high power output of 100w (1kHz/6ohms/0.9% THD) per left, center, right, left surround and right surround channels.
- Digital Inputs - Includes four digital audio inputs (three optical and one coaxial). That means owners of both DVD players and digital satellite systems don't have to choose which one gets the enhanced sound benefits of the optical connection.
- Built-in Dolby Digital and DTS - Decoder converts the encoded digital signals to 6 channels of analog audio (5.1) for spectacular home theater sound and performance.
- 6-Channel Discrete Inputs - For connection to a DVD-Audio/Video player. (Besides its ability to decode Dolby Digital and DTS soundtracks.)
- Subwoofer Output - For extended bass reproduction with independent simple subwoofer level control.
